About Ascension Wisconsin's Cancer Survivorship Program & Our Community Cancer Survivorship Educational Health Fair
At Ascension Wisconsin, we align with the National Cancer Institute's definition of a cancer survivor as "An individual is considered a cancer survivor from the time of diagnosis through the balance of life. There are many types of survivors, including those living with cancer and those free of cancer." With advancements in treating cancer comes unique challenges of ensuring long-term health of cancer survivors. Ascension Wisconsin’s Cancer Survivorship Program provides comprehensive support during and following your cancer treatment. Our goal is to help improve your health and quality of life after being diagnosed with cancer.
Join us as we celebrate National Cancer Survivor Day as a community. As a National Cancer Survivor Day® event, it is also a "celebration for those who have survived, inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families and an outreach to the community." We will have a wide variety of breakout sessions that you may attend if you are interested. Before, during, or after breakout sessions, connect with community resources sharing information about various topics for all cancer types such as nutrition, sexual health, physical activity programs, financial assistance, and natural beauty products. Refreshments will be provided throughout the event.
